as I read the article, I wondered what is the source? who is the author?does it include any proof or evidence? . after I reread the article I did some research about the journalist and found that her name is Alys Davies who has been working for BBC news since October 2019, The report doesn't have any proof because it's just a prediction from a professional praediatrician. however another thing that I wanted to know is what is the keypoint of the news? the article said that "The report emphasises that its acknowledgement of the economic impact of obesity "is in no way a reflection of blame on people living with obesity". which I think is the key point of the news. "does the media include statistics as a reference?" well, it says that more than 4 billion people will be affected but it is not sure because its just a prediction that they made.

title: France protest: demonstrators clash with police in Paris as the march against pension reforms.
source: independent.co.uk by Stephane Mahe, Elizabeth Pineau
date: 29 march 2023
url: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/france-protests-paris-news-today-b2309591.html
summary: this article talks about the protest in France that protesters set fire to bins and threw projectiles at police in Paris. clashes also erupted in cities including Rennes, Bordeaux, Toulouse with a bank branch and cars set ablaze in Nantes. the government rejected a new demand by unions to suspend and rethink the pension bill, which will bring the retirement age from 62 up to 64. millions of people have been demonstrating and joining strike action since mid January to show their opposition to the bill, but public frustration has evolved into broader anti-macron sentiment. City rubbish collectors have suspended their weeks-long strike and anarchists smashed shop windows, demolished bus stops and ransacked a McDonald's restaurant in Paris. this was some of the worst street violence in years in France.
reaction: after I read this article I think the government should come out and try to solve the problem to stop the protest.
questions:
-what can government do to stop the protest?
-what do you think about the pension reform?

title: half of the world on track to be overweight by 2035
source: bcc news by Alys Davies
date: 3 March 2023
url: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-64831848
summary: the report highlights the rising rates of obesity among children and teenagers, with rates expected to double by 2020. It also highlights the effects of obesity's prevalence on lower-income countries, with nine of the 10 countries with the greatest expected increases in obesity being low or lower-middle income states in Africa and Asia. The report estimates that rises in obesity rates will have a significant impact on the global economy, equating to 3% of global Gross Domestic product. BMI is a medical term used to describe a person with a high excess of body fat.
reaction: This blog taught me so much on how obese people affects the world. This blog could teach us and let us know that we should try to stay healthy and it could help our economy
Question: In what ways can we help teach our younger people to stay healthy?

title: can we really measure implicit bias? maybe not
source: tom Bartlett
date: January 05, 2017
URL: https://www.chronicle.com/article/Can-We-Really-Measure-Implicit/238807
summary: this article tell us about implicit bias or unconscious bias which there is an implicit association test that was created by the Harvard University to help people to know about their implicit bias in order to stop discrimination. however many people including Hart Blanton, a professor of psychology said that their is very little evidence that the IAT test can change people mind or behavior.
reaction: in my opinion I think taking the IAT might be helpful for some group of people and some type of bias. as I took the test about gender it came out that I prefer straight people more than gay people and I don't think I would agree with that, maybe its just because I feel more comfortable with straight people than gay people didn't mean I would hat gay people
question: is there any other way to measure implicit bias

source: Nicholas Yong-BBC news
URL: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-64508029
summary: this article talks about the phrase "sushi terrorism"that has been viral on many social platform and has sparked a huge outcry online. the video was published on instagram by a teenage boy, in the video his friend was licking a soy sauce bottle on a sushi conveyor belt and put them back. Since the video had spread a lot of people are complaining about the quality and how unhygienic it is for the other customers. however, the restaurant has replaced all the soy sauce bottles and instated new dining rules for every customers.
reaction: in this case I think they were doing it for fun and did not expect to be viral but since a lot of people have known about this many restaurants should be more aware of their customers and their hygiene.
questions:
- should restaurants ban this type of customers?
-what would you do if you were the staff?
-should young people be educated about how they should act in public?

Title: fake or not? Decoding the authenticity of online news
Source: Milos Stanic, what’s new in publishing
URL: https://whatsnewinpublishing.com/fake-or-not-decoding-the-authenticity-of-online-news/
Summary: this article explains what fake news is, types of fake news, how they spread the news and how do we spot fake news. Fake news is created to intrigue readers or viewers by using various methods -no matter how foul. These methods include interesting headlines and clickbait that are usually fake. Some sources are obvious that it is made up, we can spot them by their cheap graphics which are considered unprofessional compared to other big news companies. To prevent ourselves from getting deceived by the fake news we should read the news clearly and carefully
Reaction: getting informed about current events day by day is part of human’s life, especially receiving them through the online world; social media is a boiling pot of different news or stories mixed together. With this in mind, we can expect anything accurate and inaccurate which is occurring everyday with no sign of it slowing down its aggression. One thing we can, indeed, do to not fall for a victim is to check the source you’re getting the information from twice or more.
Questions: -should school teach us how to be more careful with fake news? -how can we stop people from making fake news?
